The workshop was crafted to impart knowledge on concept development to our eager students.
Key components of the course comprised:
- Introduction to effective word and brainstorming techniques, followed by their transformation into tangible concepts through sketching and a systematic elimination process.
- Guidance on building a reference collection and its practical implementation, emphasising thorough research and a comprehensive understanding of design application.
- Hands-on instruction on digitally refining and enhancing ideas using tools like Procreate and Photoshop.
The goal of the workshop was to underscore the linear nature of the creative process. It demonstrated how ideas evolve and mature through structured steps, underscoring that this methodology is not only learnable but also applicable across various domains.
From a lifetime of making Art, Mike’s skill set is broad as is his range of creative influences. His driving passion for creating stemmed from an early love of comic books and cartoons and later developed to the influences of action sports, urban and rural landscapes, people and wildlife, concrete and culture.
